Area of expertise:
From a personal perspective my key skills centre around organisation, planning, processes, detail, accuracy, precision, problem solving, project management, commercial awareness, business numbers, cost and efficiency savings.
As a CAD design engineer I have vast experience in the design and manufacture of steel frames, machine components and structures. I’m highly experienced in producing assembly packs, detailed design for manufacture, manufacturing packs which provide traceability, correct information and will be provided in an easy-to-use format. I am at ninja level when it comes to value engineering; I can see instantly where savings can be made and will always look for improvements, standardisation and commonization.
I never over complicate anything; keeping things simple as a design engineer is the motto I live by.
Main responsibilities within Bennett Engineering:
- Day to day operations of the business (including accounting and finance).
- Quality control for drawings output.
- Delivering the designs
- Managing the projects
- Communicating with clients and suppliers
- Managing enquiries through to projects
What I enjoy most at Bennett Engineering:
- Every day is different
- Every project is different
- Every outcome is different
- Every challenge is different
All whilst having processes in place to work in a high-quality way that delivers the best solution or option to our clients.
What do you think sets Bennett Engineering apart:
The personal passion from the team for your project / company. We’re born engineers / natural engineers who know our stuff because we live and breathe engineering all day every day whether we’re at work or not. The team are all understanding, compassionate, commercially aware individuals who work very well together. We want things to work for our clients, we want to solve things, we’re keen to make things, we want to be delivering the very best always.
What superpowers do you have:
- Numbers and pattens
- Getting things done and on time
- Ability to organise something complex
- Ability to simplify most things
- Making a promise and keeping it.
Also knowing that nothing is impossible with the right time and money. Could we build an elevator to the moon? Yes, but why would we?
If you could meet any historical figure who would it be:
Frank Hornby because I admire how he started a business from nothing but based on his own creativity and passion to provide engineering educational toys that are still loved to this day.
Colin Chapman who designed the Lotus 7 which is still pretty similar to the version he created in 1948 today. Again the man has left an amazing legacy, something that is well loved to this day.
